How to send a positive recognition message (Applause)

Great managers celebrate their team's wins. Use Pathlight to send encouraging messages and positive feedback to your team members or to your entire team. 

In Pathlight, these types of encouraging messages are called "Applause."

Tips for sending Applause messages

• Congratulate an individual or the entire team for hitting a goal

• Recognize when someone is leading the team in an important metric

• Celebrate significant improvement in performance

• Recognize them for something non-data related, like mentoring a new hire or going above and beyond for a customer

How to send an Applause message from your dashboard

1. Click the New Message button from your dashboard
2. Add team member, and other individuals or teams as the reciepient(s)
   
   Tip: Consider including other team members, leaders, and even other teams to publically ackowledge and celebrate and achievement.
   
   
3. Select Applause
   
   
   
   
4. Enter your message title
5. Write your message
6. (optional) Add a chart or leaderboard or add an image or GIF
7. Click Share
8. Your team member will be notified via Slack or email, and will receive the message in their Inbox

How to send a recognition message from a path

Use data to guide your positive feedback by sending a message from a Path.

1. Open a group of metrics (View Path)
2. In the top right corner, select "Highest performers" or "Passing by 20%" to highlight the people doing a great job or click a metric column to sorty by top performers
3. Hover over a green cell
4. Click "Message" to open a new message window
5. Select Applause
6. Enter your message title
7. Write your message
8. (optional) Add a chart or leaderboard or add an image or GIF
9. Click Share
10. Your team member will be notified via Slack or email, and will receive the message in their Inbox
