Mini Goals
Mini Goals are a great way to encourage an individual to work towards improving a specific metric in a short amount of time. Each organization using Pathlight has the ability to set their own goals for individual metrics. You, as a leader, have the ability to help break those goals up over a shorter amount of time to make achieving goals more realistic for your team. For example, It may be daunting for John to reach 200 calls in a month, so you implement a Mini Goal. Instead of focusing on an overwhelming 200 calls, you create a Mini Goal for John to reach 50 calls in a week. Breaking it up into smaller pieces reframes the expectation in a way that is a lot more attainable.
When you create a Mini Goal for your team members, you can do these one at a time or you can create the same goal for multiple team members by adding multiple assignees. You'll be able to select the metric, target value, end date (usually within the current week), and a motivational message to get them fired up!
You can then track progress towards their goals by accessing the Mini Goal tab within the dashboard. From here you will be able to see who the assignee is, what metric they're working on, what the target is, end date for the Mini Goal, and what the results are. If they miss their goal, it will be indicated in red with how much they missed it by. The same is true for goals they have achieved, only these will be indicated in green. You can click into the Mini Goals at any time by clicking on the metric name and you will see a goal flag located on the date the Mini Goal is set to end (or ended.)

Contests
Contests are similar in how they can get the whole team involved in improving upon a metric. You access contests through the same view within Pathlight as our Mini Goals. So you can look at it through the same lens. Create a contest to track performance around a specific metric, Pathlight will create a leaderboard and share updates around how the team is progressing in the Contest. Your team will be notified of the Contest and as they make progress they will see emojis next to their names when viewing that metric. The emojis indicate their ranking in the Contest. Once the Contest is completed, your team will see the results in a snapshot and you can reward your team for their hard work in achieving their desired results.Making performance goals smaller and more exciting can help the team rally around one another to improve performance.
