In Pathlight you can send direct messages to your team members to share feedback and insightful data to help improve performance. Your team member can acknowledge, comment on, and refer back to your coaching messages in Pathlight, creating a strong communication feedback loop.

How to send a coaching message from your dashboard

1. Click New Message button from your dashboard
2. Add team member or team as a recipient (remember, you can always add multiple recipients to a message)
3. Select the Category "Coaching"
4. Add a Title
5. Write your message from scratch or load in an existing message template using "Templates"
6. (optional) Add a chart or leaderboard using metric embedding, or add an image or link to a training using the toolbar
7. (optional) Request acknowledgement from your team member. Their acknowledgement will be time stamped in Pathlight, creating a strong feedback loop
8. Click Share
9. Your team member will be notified via Slack or email

How to send a coaching message from a path

Use data to guide your coaching by sending a message from a Path.

1. Go to the applicable Path
2. Click Highlight in the top right corner
3. Choose a highlight that will help you understand who needs guidance. Examples: "Failing but getting better," "Lowest Performers," "Negative 7d Change".
4. Click on a highlighted cell
5. Click New Message
6. Select Category Coaching
7. Add a Title
8. Write your message from scratch or load in an existing message template using "Templates"
9. (optional) Add a chart or leaderboard using metric embedding, or add an image or link to a training using the toolbar
10. (optional) Request acknowledgement from your team member. Their acknowledgement will be time stamped in Pathlight, creating a strong feedback loop
11. Click Share
12. Your team member will be notified via Slack or email
